Back to list of Projects

The second phase of a construction project that included the renovation of the 3A Wing in Aspinwall, Ground South’s Intent was that of 3A. A more relaxed, yet sophisticated environment for patients and caretakers. A diner, ballroom and living room complete with fireplace is hardly what would describe a hospital. However that’s exactly what was incorporated into this renovation with an angle towards healthcare. These astetically pleasing renovations help with the patients psyche, and give them the impression not of simply a hospital bed and cafeteria but of their own comfortable living space. Bland repetitive hospital walls and rooms were replaced with vibrant colors, and an eclectic blend of themes for the space. All while still providing a clean, infection controlled area. Centralized nurse stations again are removed to provide smaller reception areas and nurse work stations throughout the wing.
Ground South is a perfect example of the future of healthcare, and the high esteems the VAMC holds for Veterans.
